TOURNAMENT RULES
A Race for the Galaxy Tournament will be held on Saturday and Sunday at ClineCON. Each day's tournament will be complete in one sitting, there will be no carry-over between Saturday and Sunday. The winner of the Saturday tournament may not play on Sunday. A quick demo will precede the tournament.
Each tournament will consist of three one-hour rounds. In each round, each player will play one game. Each game must have four players and RFTG sets will be provided for up to sixteen participants (i.e. four games). Only basic sets will be used for this tournament (i.e. no expansions) and additional players will only be accomodated in groups of four if there is an extra RFTG set and space.
At the end of each game, the winner of the game is awarded four points, the second place player is awarded three points, the third place player is awarded two points, and the last place player will be awarded one point. In the next round, the winners will be matched against each other, the last place finishers will match in a game, and the middle finishers will play each other.
In the final round, the players with the highest scores after two games will play in a game, the players with the lowest total scores will play in a game, and the middle players will play each other in the final game.
At the conclusion of the third round, the player with the highest combined score after three games is the tournament winner.
