ClineCON CODE OF CONDUCT
Yeah, it's a bummer, but ClineCON follows the rules standard to all gaming conventions, including the following:
Convention Attendee Conduct: Convention attendees are expected to conduct themselves in an honorable, sporting, dignified, and upright manner at all times. Those who become disruptive, loud, argumentative, threatening, hostile, belligerent, violent, excessively discourteous, or who challenge others to fight them, or act inappropriately, or in an unsporting or dishonorable manner, will be escorted from the convention floor, by Convention Center security and/or law enforcement.
Young Gamers: Convention attendees under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian at all times. If you appear young, you will be asked your age.
Alcohol, Smoking and Illegal Substances: Convention attendees are expected to be sober and/or otherwise not under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances. Alcohol will not be sold at the convention and will not be permitted in the convention area. Anyone visibly intoxicated or under the influence of illegal drugs, will not be permitted entry to the convention area and/or will be ejected from the convention. Obviously, illegal substances will not be permitted in the convention area, and anyone caught using, possession, selling, or distributing any such will be reported to law enforcement authorities. Additionally, no smoking will be permitted in the convention area; smoking is permitted in designated areas outside the convention.
Dress Code: Convention attendees are expected to dress appropriately (and to be fully clothed); shirts and shoes are required for admission. Shirt of whatever type must sufficiently cover the chest and abdominal areas. Anyone wearing offensive T-shirts and other items, including those containing racial, ethnic, political or sexual slurs, pictures of marijuana plants, illegal drugs or drug use, or patently offensive symbols (including swastikas, even if part of a costume), slogans, or pictures, or sexual acts or nudity, will be refused entrance into the convention area, and escorted from the convention area if already admitted. Anyone wearing "strategically ripped" clothing may be refused admittance to the convention and/or removed from the convention area. The determination appropriateness of the dress of any attendee is solely at the discretion of the Chairman of the Convention. Anyone refused admittance or removed for offensive clothing or for not being fully and suitably clothed, may return when appropriately dressed.
Footwear: Convention attendees may only wear normal footwear; attendees may not wear skates, in-line skates, or propel themselves on "sneaker skates" or "skate shoes" in the convention area. No running will be permitted in the convention area. Convention attendees are expected to be considerate of others and to watch where they are going, and to be in full control of anything in their hands (including especially food and beverages) while moving through the convention area.
Costumes and Military Uniforms: Convention attendees may wear costumes, but may not wear current military uniforms, unless they are currently serving in the armed forces of the United States of America. Anyone wearing a current military uniform will be required to show a military identification card. German black SS uniforms and any uniform displaying a swastika or SS "deathshead" symbol will not be allowed into the Convention. Any publically offensive costume will be barred from the convention. Admission of any costume or uniform to the convention area may not be construed as an endorsement by ClineCON of whatever the costume or uniform represents.
Weapons and Costume Items: Convention attendees may not possess weapons or ammunition, real or simulated (including paintball guns). "Realistic" fake weapons will not be permitted in the convention space, even if the attendee is wearing a costume to which the weapon would be an appropriate accessory. Water guns or "soakers" of any type will not be allowed in the convention area, out of consideration for the games and merchandise in the area. "Wizard's staffs," walking sticks, and other costume items that are not solely or specifically weapons, will be permitted, at the sole discretion of the Convention Chairperson. Convention attendees may not propel items at other attendees while on the convention floor, by either natural or mechanical means. Obviously, explosive and/or incendiary, or noise-making devices are not permitted in the convention area.
Sleeping: Convention attendees are expected to be awake while in the convention area; any attendee found sleeping will be woken up and/or asked to leave. Attendees asked to leave for sleeping in the convention area, will be permitted to return after at least six hours have passed.
Gambling: Convention attendees may not engage in any form of gambling or wager for money or anything of value. The concept of gaming embraced by ClineCON does not include those commonly called "games of chance" or any sort of Casino-like games.
Stealing and other Crimes: Convention attendees caught stealing or committing any acts of moral turpitude, will be reported to Convention Center security and/or to law enforcement and removed from the convention area. ClineCON is not responsible, however, for the security of any personal or gaming property, or items of value; Convention attendees are responsible for their own property and should avoid bringing unique items or items of great monetary value to the convention, unless necessary.
Music, Video Games, and Cell Phones: Convention attendees may only listen to music or play video games on devices using headphones, music will not be played openly in the convention area. Similarly, cell phone volume should be turned down so that ringtones do not disrupt the convention; cell phone conversations should be either conducted quietly or taken outside of the convention area.
Animals: No animals, except seeing-eye dogs, will be allowed in the convention area.
Removal From Convention Area: Any disruptive activity or any violation of the ClineCON Code of Conduct will be resolved in favor of removal of the offending attendees or persons from the convention area. Anyone removed from the convention area will not be entitled to a refund of their admission fee or any part thereof.
Agreement to Abide by the Code of Conduct: Attendance at the convention requires and implies agreement to abide by the ClineCON Code of Conduct, the rules of the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, and to not engage in any illegal or disruptive activity or acts of moral turpitude.
Right to Exclude: The Chairperson of the Convention reserves the right to exclude any specific game from the convention, and to restrict or prohibit the distribution of any particular or all "fliers," advertisements, pamphlets, booklets, books, magazines, or any other materials at the convention.
